Chartered on December 13, 2005, Maketu Rotary is one of New Zealand’s newest Rotary clubs. (See "About Rotary" on this website)
Maketu Rotary is a service club composed of women and men committed to the Rotary ideal of "Service Above Self". The club is committed to service both in the local community and in the world. It undertakes projects aimed at:
- Building a better community
- Supporting youth
- Meeting community needs and addressing
community problems
- Beautification of the Maketu community and
protecting the environment
- Preservation of historic sites
- Supporting other community organisations and
local projects
- Reaching out to serve people in other parts of
the world through Rotary’s worldwide efforts
